I used to use 5ghz wfi but the lag and stream quality were awful so I got a 50 ft flat cat 6 ethernet cable to run underneath the trim of the wall from the office to the living room. The input lag got a lot better when I changed to gaming mode on the TV, but it's still not usable for shooters. I'm streaming at 2k now since this doesn't make a difference. The video quality is smooth but with frequent periodic moments of stuttering and frame drops regardless of the stream quality, resolution, or bitrate. Reducing the graphics quality of the game to medium (I can usually run maxed out without any issues on my PC though).Increasing the amount of memory allocated to the GPU on the Pi to ~0.5 gb.Enabling all forms of hardware encoding on the host side in the steam link settings.Enabling hardware decoding on the client side in the steam link settings.Tuning the bitrate on the steam link app. ![]() Killing Floor 2 is the game I've been using to test my performance.TV is a 4k hisense 65" with "game mode" enabled.Pi is connected directly to the host with a cat 6 ethernet cable and the host is connected to the internet via wifi, but the Pi is not connected to wifi in anyway. ![]() Host rig specs are GTX 1080, Ryzen 1800x, 32 gb ram, native 2k resolution, gigabit ethernet controller. ![]()
